Mission Burger: Big Smoke Burgers

I wanted to go to this place from a very long time and I finally got to go to Big Smoke Burgers this weekend! As Ramadan is going on they open at Iftar, they do takeaways from 6:30pm too in Ramadan. You can always call them up and check it out! They’re located at the Box Park, Al Safa.

Box Park, Al Safa, Dubai.

They’ve a lot of options if you’re a non vegetarian but that isn’t the same if you’re a vegetarian! You can choose your toppings whether you want the Classic toppings that is Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickles, Mayonnaise, Ketchup and Dijon Mustard or from their Signature toppings which is Caramelised Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, Avocado, Sauteed Mushroom and Coleslaw and you just have to pay extra 5dhs for that. They’ve a wide range of their Signature burgers too, you can choose from that and pay according to how many ounce burger do you want, they’ve 2oz, 4oz and 6oz burgers.

Left: Cheese burger 4oz with Coke. Right: Veggie Burger 60z, Small Fries and Coke.

I opted for their Veggie Burger 6oz with the Classic Toppings, the patty was a normal potato, carrot, onion and peas with herbs and spices patty. It’s definitely a normal potato patty but the taste was way better than a normal potato patty because of the spices they had used and the classic toppings! I was a little disappointed about one thing and that was when I took my 1st bite my burger became a mess, the patty kept coming out with every bite, the bun was a little smaller comparing to the patty so the patty kept coming out or it can be that I don’t know how to eat a burger properly, haha ๐Ÿ˜› No, really can be either of those ๐Ÿ˜› I’m not a messy eater so I kind of dislike when things get messier, but at least the burger tasted good! Veggie Burger is for 30dhs.

Veggie Burger 6oz.

Can we all take a moment and thank god for french fries or the person who thought of french fries??? This by far is my most favourite french fries I’ve had in a very long time, I’m not even kidding! They’re hand cut french fries and I think they’re fried for a little longer because they’re just so crispy from the outside but the best thing is that it hasn’t lost the softness from inside even after it’s fried for longer time!! Loved it, I would go back from some fries with any doubt! The french fries is for 15dhs (small).

Don’t forget to order some Mayonnaise to dip your fries and even if you love Tabasco sauce like I do then you can mix some ketchup and Tabasco together and make your own Tomato Chilli Sauce! ๐Ÿ˜€

IMG_8910

French Fries: Hand Cut- Small.

Soft drinks are for 12dhs (pricy) but are refillable so you can get your refills how many ever time you want! I barely refilled it ones because the glass was so huge. ๐Ÿ˜›

If you’re buying everything together then it can be a little pricy for you but hey sharing, that’s where you can even eat what you want and pay half of it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The staff was friendly and helpful so that’s a good thing! The ambience is pretty good, I really liked the interior and the seating inside and out! They’ve a rustic wall also in there, be careful with the wall though! ๐Ÿ˜› Good place to chill with friends.. Do come a little earlier if you’ve a car because finding for a parking in the front side would be difficult, but I think Box Park has parking on the back side too.

Hope my review was any helpful for you, enjoy your time and do let me know how did you like Big Smoke Burgers! Don’t forget to follow my food journey, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Have a great day ahead, Stay Healthy and Stay Foodie! ๐Ÿ˜€

Mission Burger: Mooyah

Mooyah is an All-American concept bringing the flavours of Texan burgers to Dubai. They’ve two branches in Dubai, 1 is at Ibn Battuta Mall and 2nd is at Al Wasl Square, Al Safa. I’ve been twice to their Al Wasl Square branch and I had both good and bad experience. Let’s get reviewing. ๐Ÿ˜€

As you all know I’ve been trying out some great burgers and Mooyah has been one of them, Mooyah is like the burger version of subway but better and a little unhealthy too, haha! ๐Ÿ˜›

You can choose what you want to have from their Signature Burgers or you can even Build Your Own Burger! I opted for building my own burger and I was all excited to build my burger because you can add whatever you want and as much ever you want. I chose my bread, patty and following, I went for the white bread, black bean veggie patty, added few veggies like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, some pickles, onions and grilled onions too (yes I like my onions a lot and yes I do have chewing gum right after I’m done. :P) Then comes the sauces, I went for their signature sauce the Mooyah Sauce, Mayo and some Ranch. For cheese I chose the American cheese, everything together tasted so good. Don’t forget to add some grilled onions to your burger it adds the crunchiness to your burger and some more flavour too ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ve have had a black bean patty few a little times and got really disappointed about them ever since. So I had a 50-50 mind, but at Mooyah you can taste all the spices, garlic, onion, chilli everything in that one bite you take of your burger and I’ve actually regained my faith in a black bean patty, haha. The patty wasn’t dry and wasn’t soggy either and was properly cooked and freshly made!! Oh you can also get a little adventurous and even add double patties to your burger which is for 33dhs, I went for the single patty :P. My burger was for 24dhs.

Black Bean Burger, Loaded Fries with Cola.

It’s time to talk about my favourite part and that is the FRIES, haha you know how much I love my fries, don’t you?? I’m sure you do! ๐Ÿ˜›

I went for the loaded fries because why not? ๐Ÿ˜› No, actually one of their staff suggested me to try the loaded fries and I was like yes sure why not. ๐Ÿ˜› I excluded the bacon bits, you can add them if you’re a non vegetarian! Loaded fries has loads of aged creamy cheddar cheese sauce drizzled with some ranch dressing and topped with jalapenos. Yes, its a bit pricy but if you love fries then you can surely try them! Loaded fries is for 22dhs.

I even tasted the Onion Rings, oh my lord! So crunchy and so good. I even had the cheese fries from my friends and they were as good as the loaded fries. Onion Rings is for 12dhs and Cheese Fries is for 16dhs. Their soft drinks are refillable and for 10dhs.

The second time I had been to Mooyah I had a kind of not good experience, my burger was all breaking through, patty tasted as good as the last time, but the bread was a little stale if I’m not wrong because it was really crumbly and breaking with every bite I took. Fresh breads don’t crumb as much as stale bread do. I don’t like my burger breaking with every bite I take, then things start getting to messy and all. But nevertheless there is always a bad experience at a good place sometimes, isn’t it? That’s what I think.

What I really liked about their burger is that they’re really filling and yes like every other joint everything together can get a little pricy but if you and your friends are going you can always share, Am I right or Am I right? Haha ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you’re going to their Ibn Battuta Mall ย branch then they’re located at the China Court and if you’re going to their Al Wasl Square branch please be careful with your turns, you can mess up a little because of the construction! The parking can be a problem in the front but there are some parking’s at the back too, so you can park there!! The staff was great, friendly and humble! Lovely ambience, they’ve seating’s outside also so you can enjoy that when the weather is a little cooler!

You can check out their location and menu onย https://www.zomato.com/dubai/restaurants/mooyah

I hope you’re enjoying this series of my reviews on some great burger joints! Don’t forget follow my food journey! Stay healthy and foodie. Have a great day ahead. ๐Ÿ˜€

Operation: Falafel

Operation: Falafel is a modern take on authentic Arabic street food with a simple setup and with an open kitchen. I’ve heard so much good about them from probably everyone who has been to this place and I wanted to try Operation: Falafel ever since then. I had been to their Box Park branch and they have almost 5 branches and 2 are coming soon near you!

image1 (2)

The Box Park Branch.

Story Time: We friends usually plan out where to go for lunch/dinner before a day or two and when it’s all decided, I always go and check the menu 1st and find for the best thing I want to have (Like 100 times I check their menu, haha) and then make my mind about that, the same happened over here also. Is it just me or you also do this?? Don’t be shy to accept it, haha. Okay let’s talk about the food ๐Ÿ˜›

image5 (2)

(Top: Shawarma Sandwich, Sharwarma Saj Platter. Bottom: Kaboos, Stuffed Falafel Platter.)

I was so looking forward to have their Falafel Platter, they’ve two of them in falafel.ย 1) Falafel Platter, just the regular 6 falafels with kaboos (arabic bread/pita bread), hummus (boiled chickpea blended with tahini, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt made into a paste), tahini (sesame seed paste blend with lemon juice and salt made into a sauce), fresh veggies and pickles, For 19dhs.

2) Stuffed Falafel, I opted for this one because why not?? I’ve never had a stuffed falafel and I was really keen to try it out, the difference between the regular and stuffed falafel was only the falafel, but that was a big difference because you get 4 huge falafels (which you can barely finish) and they’re stuffed with a mix of foul beans, tomato and onion with Arabic spices. Who would even think of making Stuffed Falafels?? Opernation: Falafel surely did. A very filling platter, you would surely enjoy it if you like Falafel like I do! Stuffed Falafel is for 20dhs.

The only thing I dint like was the kaboos which comes along the platter, it’s really stale and cold. I would prefer the kaboos they make and serve fresh and hot! That’s the best thing, as you finish them or even if they get a bit cold they change it for you and serve you their hot kaboos out of their wood fired oven!! I would eat them all day, hahaha

image2 (2)

Stuffed Falafel Platter

We ordered a lot of things and one of them was their Zataar and Cheese Manakesh, they’re a little on the pricy side. But byย this point we all were so full but a slice or two of Manakeesh won’t harm anyone, Am I right or Am I right? Haha! Proper amount of Zaatar was put, usually at some places they over put the Zataar that you can barely taste any cheese, but that wasn’t over here! Zataar and Cheese Manakesh is for 15dhs.

image4 (2)

Zataar and Cheese Manakesh

Even after ordering so much food we ordered some french fries, because hey fries before guys, haha ๐Ÿ˜› ( that was a bad joke, but that’s the truth :P) Crunchy and soft french fries! I even took a bite from my friends Fiery Falafel Sandwich tasted good, it had their crunchy falafels, tahini, shatta (tamato and chilli paste) and pickles in a saj bread. Fiery Falafel Sandwich is for 14dhs.

One thing that actually annoys me a lot is the price of the soft drinks, the can says 1.50dhs then why do they charge us so much???? Makes me mad all the time!! We ordered 2 of them and shared, 1 can costed us for 8dhs. I know a lot of places cost more than this but still it’s really pricy, isn’t it? I would be fine if it was refillable, nevertheless I had a great time!

image3 (2)

French Fries

The staff ย was attentive and friendly too, good environment and ambience. They’ve a lot of seating inside and outside, parking can be a issue if you come at a peak time, so yeah! My absolute favourite was the Stuffed Falafel Platter, get your hands on them soon!! I’m going back soon.

Don’t forget to follow me for some yummy food journey. Hope you have a great weekend, Happy Thursday and Ramadan Kareem to all of you ones again! Stay blessed and healthy!!

Mission Burger – Burger Fuel

I’ve been on a mission to find the best vegetarian burger in Dubai, and I did find some great tasting burgers and some weren’t that great. I’m still on a mission haven’t stopped it yet! So, if you’ve a suggestion please do let me know in the comments below and I’ll surely go try it out there!! Enjoy the blog and this series.

I’ll be reviewing all the tasty burgers I’ve had in the following days with my new series; Mission Burger. Hope you all like it!! Today I’ll start with Burger Fuel, stay tuned they have pretty finger licking good burgers!! Let’s get reviewing! ๐Ÿ˜€

image5 (1)

Burger Fuel was originally found in New Zealand and they’re well known for their gourmet burgers; they have almost 11 locations in Dubai. You can find all their locations and menu on http://www.zomato.com or on their own siteย www.burgerfuel.com/uae/menu

Burger Fuel has two vegetarian gourmet burgers, 1) V Dub Vege and 2) V Twin Vege. I had both the burgers and one the 1st bite itself I was in love with them!! They literally taste so good and filling.

image7 (1)

(Top: V Dub Vege, Below: V Twin Vege)

Let’s start with V Dub Vege, this burger has a different combination to it, They’ve a side dish munchy which is Motobites (25dhs) and it is made of ย smashed pumpkin, carrot, chickpea and ginger bites, and that’s what they have in the burger, they put almost 4-5 motobites with some melted cheddar, raw grated beetroot, salad, relish, aioli. 1st when I went through their menu and read pumpkin, I had double thoughts of ordering V Dub Vege but it was a surprise!! You cannot literally taste any pumpkin because of all the spices, chickpea and ginger bites. I don’t either like beetroot, but hey this combination is so so so goood!!! Frankly the burger on it’s own is a bit expensive but it’s totally worth it!! V Dub Vege is for 32dhs

V Twin Vege, is a mushroom, kumara (sweet potato), chickpea and basil pattie, melted cheddar, plum sauce, salad, relish, and aioli. At 1st when you read all these ingredients you think will this actually taste good together??? But ones you take a bite, OMG just so delicious and so yummy. The burgers themselves are so huge and heavy that you can barely finish them! The plum sauce has a little sweet and sour touch to it, that it actually goes well with the whole burger. V Twin Vege is for 32dhs

image3 (1)

(Top: V Dub Vege with Onion Rings and Coke, Below: V Twin Vege with Sweet Potato Fries and Coke)

I tried few of their sides, like the sweetย potato fries, smash browns, and onion rings. Sweet Potato fries (18dhs) are thin and crispy from outside soft and sweet from the inside, you can count in as a healthy option. HAHA! Smash Browns (15dhs) are actually tater tots, very tasty and a little oily too, but that’s okay. Maybe? haha! Finally comes the Onion Rings, (15dhs) crispy from the out and crispy from the inside too! All the sides are served with their signature aioli.

I even tried the Chocolate Shake, but um dint really like it. It was more like a thick shake and too sweet. If you just go for the shake then also it’s extremely heavy and very filling, better to think before you make your mind to buy the shake. Chocolate Shake is for 20dhs. The soft drinks is for 10dhs.

Burger Fuel, Umm Suqeim Branch.

Burger Fuel is a bit on a expensive side ย and not pocket friendly for a budgeted person, but hey it’s really worth every penny! They’re not like the other simple potato and pea pattie burger, lot of different combination, taste, huge and very filling too! Give it a try and do let me know if you like them or not!! It would be great to hear back from you. Their staff is very helpful and friendly too! Parking at the Umm Suqeim branch is pretty easy because they’ve a parking lot!

Stay tuned to know more about other joints I tried! Don’t forget to follow me, just click the blue “Follow” button to follow my food journey!

Moshi – New Summer Menu Launch

Moshi is a fusion of Nepalese and Japanese delicacies like Momo’s and Sushi with a twist. The name Moshi is inspired by the unique fusion of two worlds Momo (Nepal) and Sushi (Japan). They have two branches in Dubai, their main branch is at Barsha and the 2nd branch is at Oud Metha.

I was invited to their New Summer Menu Launch, it’s always great to meet up with different food bloggers at such events! Here is my review on their vegetarian options from the new menu.

image1

The tasting started with them serving us with their Strawberry Mojito, really refreshing drink. Mojito was served in a very different way, they served it in a bulb shape glasses which was different and unique way of serving. It was a little too sour for me otherwise it’s a hit for me! Strawberry Mojito is for 18dhs.

image7

Strawberry Mojito

Next comes the Lotus Milkshake, I was so expecting a lotus milkshake in the new menu and why not?? Lotus biscoff is the NEW Nutella, isn’t it?? It was so good and thick and more like a thick shake. I just dint like one thing that was the biscuit crumbs added in the milkshake kind off dissolved and kind of later tasted like a paste. Lotus Milkshake is for 26dhs.

image3

Let’s talk about the food now, I started off with their Edamame and Mushroom Momo’s, both edamame and mushroom are my favorite and they were in a Momo, yes!! If you’re just going to eat it by its own then they may taste a bit bland but they’re anyways served with two sauces and sauces make everything taste good. So it’s a hit for me! Edamame and Mushroom Momo is for 19dhs.

image2

They got me the Vegetarian Sushi plate, I was just so happy to see so many veg options in a sushi!! The new menu have really interesting twists with their Sushi’s like, BPD Dhokla Maki, Flamin’ Asparagus Cheetos, Zataar and Labneh Maki, Broccoli and Asparagus and their very well known Cheesy Chips Oman(not new, but surely the best)

image4

(Left to Right: Broccoli Asparagus, Flamin’ Asparagus Cheetos, Cheesy Chips Oman)

Would you ever think anybody would come up with a Dhokla Maki?? Moshi has definitely come up with it. Being a Gujarati and Dhokla being a Gujarati dish they totally nailed the BPD Dhokla Maki with the right amount of sweetness and green chutney. BPD Dhokla Maki is for 24dhs.

I personally don’t like Asparagus but hey look Moshi surely knows how to make me eat something I don’t like, HAHA!! That flamin’ hot cheetos with asparagus was extremely good!! I dint think I would like it, but I was totally wrong. The good thing was cheetos was as crunchy it could be, because usually they tend to get soggy very fast. Flamin’ Asparagus Cheetos is for 27dhs.

Zataar and Labneh Maki, was alright, dint really find it different but wasn’t any bad. It was kind off bland in taste to me, but a dip in Tabasco sauce would taste better! It’s all about the spiciness, HAHA!! Zataar and Labneh Maki is for 25dhs.

They’ve a pretty healthy option too and that is Broccoli and Asparagus Maki, who would think finely chopped Broccoli outside and Asparagus in the inside would taste so good?? It’s shocking but I LOVED IT. Look whose actually liking the healthy option better, ME! HAHA. When I read Broccoli and Asparagus I wasn’t looking forward for it but the 1st bite I took, I just loved it. You can barely taste any of them. So good! Broccoli and Asparagus is for 29dhs.

Last but not the least is my MOST FAVORITE the CHEESY CHIPS OMAN!!! Aaahh Love it! If you’re a Dubai kid then you’re someone like me who loves them some Oman Chips. If you love Oman Chips this is to DIE for. I’m surely not exaggerating it, I swear. HAHA! The combination is surely different but a great combination for sure. Cheesy Chips Oman is for 24dhs.

image6

(Left to Right: Above, BPD Dhokla Maki and Zataar and Labneh Maki. Below, Flamin’ Chicken Cheetos and Volcano Roll.)

The last dish I had was the Falafel Nigri, I personally dint really like it. Actually the Falafel was too dry and hard plus dint have any taste. The rice alone tasted good, I could taste tahini sauce mixed in the rice which tasted good but dint like the falafel. If the falafel was a little soft and flavorful I think it would taste better. Falafel Nigri is for 19dhs.

image5

Falafel Nigri

It was great food with very good experience!! The ambience is pretty good and different like their food. This was my second time and loved it just like my first time. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly so is Mr.Moshi! You shouldn’t have any parking issues too because you can get a parking anywhere around the area over there!! Thank you Mr.Moshi for the invite!

New Restaurant Alert: Desi Bistro โœจ

Hello Hello foodie! I hope you all are doing great! I recently tried this new restaurant located in Fahidi Souk, 1st floor terrace in Meena Bazar.

I had heard and read A LOT of good reviews about this place on Facebook and by few other people, but we weren’t sure where they were located. We found out the place, Their interior is unique, they’ve an outside seating too which is good if you go in the winters. We were greeted by their staff and the manager as we entered and got seated.

As I always say every restaurant has the dine or not to dine experience and so does this place, we went twice and both the times there was something I dint like. Their menu doesn’t have a lot of variety in North Indian sabzi’s, very limited. When said about it the Manager was like we’ve a big variety in other cuisine. Umm not that big in other cuisine either. (That’s what I think.)

(Left to Right: Kadhai Paneer, Regular Thali, Roti Basket, Shikanji and Raj Kachori)

The 1st time we had gone it was a Friday, very slow service I understand it’s a weekend but we literally sat there for more than 2 hours waiting for our food to come. They’ve less waiters, food comes really slow. So I give them my order and I was really  clear about it and said I would like to order Paneer Makhani, and I don’t know how we were severed with Kadhai Paneer. Dint like the sabzi a lot, I just like the gravy’s taste. I’m familiar that Kadhai Paneer has big chunks of capsicum and onion with big pieces of paneer, but this had more of capsicum, onions and less of paneer. That was a little disappointing to me. You should totally order their Roti Basket, that was the best thing I had that evening! Freshly made roti’s, they’ve 5 types of breads, that is Missi Roti, Laccha Paratha, Aloo/Paneer Kulcha, Pudina Paratha and Butter Naan. All of them were good even after getting cold. That’s how the roti’s are suppose to be. Raj Kachori’s presentation was pretty but dint like the taste, very average! The lentils weren’t properly cooked, it dint have theeka meetha chutneys too. My Uncle liked their Thali so it was a hit. Shikanji was a MISS, very watery and dint have any proper taste, lack of lemon juice and sugar both.

(Left to Right: Paneer Makhani, Roti Basket, Chilli Cheese Toast, Masala Chai.)

Paneer Makhani was alright, I’ve had better paneer makhani before, it dint have that makhani taste in the gravy. It was more of a tomato purรฉe taste and less of makhani taste and again less of paneer in the gravy. Roti basket was good as before. Chilli Cheese Toast was the best thing of the evening, just the size of the toast was way too small then we thought but the taste was good, I could taste parmesan cheese, processed cheese and a little of mozzarella cheese too, it also had proper amount of chilli as the name, liked it a lot! Masala Chai was good!

So, this was my dine or not to dine experience at Desi Bistro. I also did speak to their Manager and Head Chef, pretty understanding team, good staff, nice interior, expensive food quantity wise, they should really add a lot of North Indian Sabzi to their menu! Hygiene wise they’re clean.

Ratings:

Food: 3/5

Staff: 3/5

Hygiene: 4/5

Money: 2.5/5

Overall Ratings: 6/10

Overall experience was okay, I wouldn’t call it pocket friendly at all and one time try is okay. It was a hit or miss situation.

I hope you like my blogs, sorry about being late this time, I shall be back on track soon!! Stay hooked and I hope you’re enjoying these blogs! Take care foodies and enjoy! ๐Ÿ˜โœจ
