Dillicious – Al Karama

Dillicious is the new restaurant in town, just 1-2months old and they’re located in Karama. They’ve made the whole restaurant into a modern indian dhaba and I love it! They’ve literally have a trucks front body inside the restaurant, say whaattt!! :O

IMG_3443

I had visited them along my foodie blogger friend Aditi πŸ˜€ Also thank you to Stylecode Media for the invite πŸ˜€ Let’s get to the food, shall we? πŸ˜€

IMG_5132

Beverages – Strawberry Mojito – 12dhs – I was very surprised with how good the mojito actually tasted, I was debating before the mojito came. Not too sweet nor too sour, just perfect the way it should be. Must Try!

IMG_5133

Starter – Veg Kebab Platter – 35dhs – The platter consisted of Stuffed mushrooms – were well done and had some cheese stuffing in it. Stuffed potatoes – I liked the outer layer which was crispy and flavourful, dint really like the stuffing. Achari Soya Chaap – One of the best chaaps I have had, I’m a very big fan of soya chaps and these tasted excellent, the tanginess of the achar made the dish taste even more better. Paneer Tikka – Very soft and properly tandoor’d, nobody can go wrong with paneer tikka. Seekh Kebab – very soft from that inside and crispy from the outside. loved it!

IMG_5142

Samosa Chaat – 10dhs – ONE OF THE BEST SAMOSA CHAAT IN TOWN!! Literally so good, very simple made but so so good. The dish dint have the masalai chole, just boiled chole’s, green chutney, red chutney, curd, onions, tomatoes and topped with salted boondi. such simple ingredients but a very hearty dish! Worth the amount. A Must Try

Mains – Ordered 1 sabzi, 1 dal, roti basket and biryani (veg options)

Paneer Tikka Tawa Masala – 30dhs – The paneer is tandoor’d in their bhatti and the gravy is made right in front of you in their open kitchen on the tawa, proper dhaba style! The gravy is a brown gravy which isn’t too runny and is properly coated onto the paneer, not too spicy and not bland at all!

IMG_5143

Dal Dhaba – 22dhs – We wanted to have their Dal Makhani but the manager suggested us to try their Dal Dhaba and surprisingly this dish was a bomb.com! It is made almost like dal makhani but had a mix of 5 dals, very very good tasting dish. You should surely order Dal Dhaba. A Must Try!

IMG_5146

Roti Basket – 24dhs – The basket consisted of 4-5 different kinds of roti’s and they were very soft and not rubbery. Also very reasonable for the amount of roti’s you get, I always order the roti basket at the restaurants because you get more quantity and you pay less. A Must Try!

IMG_5145

Paneer Tikka Biryaani – 24dhs – I freaking loved the biryaani, so so flavourful and delicious! Every scoop you eat you can taste the masala’s and the tons of saffron. The best part is they make the same base rice for both veg and non veg biryani, so you’re not missing on anything! A Must Try!

IMG_5148

Dessert – We ordered 2 desserts

Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream – 14dhs – I wasn’t a big fan the gulab jamun as I hate elaichi in my jamun and these had a lot of strong flavour of elaichi, so it was a miss for me.

IMG_3439

Ras Malai – 12dhs – Nothing wow, very mediocre.

IMG_5161

Staff and Service – Friendly staff and quick service!

One the Pocket – Pretty Pocket friendly, I look at myself visiting them soon in the future πŸ˜€

Overall – I really liked everything overall, the food is phenomenal, as we couldn’t finish all the food in one seating we did a take away took it home for my parents, and I kid you not they LOVED the food! The ambience and seating is really chilled. I loved the art wall and the truck, just the highlight of the restaurant πŸ˜€ The staff and the service is upto the mark. Do not panic about the parking as you’re going to find a lot of parking in this area and also it’s a C zone πŸ˜€

Sukh Sagar Restaurant

Sukh Sagar Restaurant is one of the oldest Indian Vegetarian Restaurants in Dubai and it’s going to sound a little weird but I have only visited them once in these many years! Don’t ask why though πŸ˜› Also a big thank you to Hyperlinks Media for the Invitation πŸ˜€

IMG_2432

I had gone on the 14th Feb – Valentines Day, with my very lovely Mommy πŸ˜€ We surely had a great feast πŸ˜€

Let’s talk about what all we ordered, it was a lottt of good food πŸ˜› πŸ˜€

We started off with something to drink.

Carrot Juice – 13dhs – Mom went for the fresh made carrot juice and it was pretty good, also you could get little bit of carrot with every sip, mom really liked it.

Salted Lassi – 12dhs – I went for the authentic salted lassi, for us gujarati lassi is like our beer, we have it with mostly everything and absolutely love that! Perfectly made lassi, not too salty and not too thick either, just the way I love my Lassi.

IMG_4988

We ordered 3 Appetizers –

Mix Platter – 35dhs –Β If you and your family is as crazy as we are about tandoor and all then you’ll surely like this dish, you can share the dish at least between 3 people max! The platter consisted a different variety of tandoor’d veggies like cauliflower and mushrooms, paneer and kebab’s.

LikedPaneer – The paneer was so soft that it melted right away in the mouth and it was properly tandoor’d with yummy marination masala! Mushrooms – You can never go wrong with mushrooms in a tandoor platter πŸ˜€ , Seekh Kabab – Very flavorful with all the spices and cooked properly! Pineapple – Yess, there was a pineapple that too fried in a pancake batter. I loved it!! The sourness of the pineapple and the batter was slightly sweet so the whole combination was different and tasty!

Dint likeCauliflower – The cauliflower tasted a little under-cooked, the masala tasted perfectly seasoned and not too spicy.Β  Hara Bhara Kebab – The hara bhara kebab dint taste like the authentic kebabs, very bland in taste too.

IMG_4990

Sukh Sagar Specail Masala Pav 19dhs –Β MY FAVORITE DISH!!! Literally this dish was soo gooddd!! The Masala wasn’t deadly spicy, I could do that much spice. The masala dint taste like the typical Pav Bhaji Masala, it wasn’t totally smashed and creamy like the pav bhaji masala, bigger chunks of the tomato, onions and capsicums. The pav was grilled in butter up to it was crunchy from the top and soft from the inside. The dish was topped with loads of cheese which took the dish to another level of awesomeness! An absolute Must Try!

You’re boring, let’s talk about something exciting like Cheese! πŸ§€πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ . . . . . This is the Sukh Sagar Special Masala Pav from @sukhsagarinternational , this is one of the best masala pav I have had in a very longtime! I’m surely going back for these cheesy masala pav 🀀 Btw, my @sukhsagarinternational blog should be up by tomorrow morning πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ thank you @hyperlinks_media β™₯️ @zomatouae . . . . . #sukhsagarinternational #dubai #karama #vegetarianfood #mumbaistyle #hyperlinksmedia #dubaifoodiebybirth #uaefoodie #myuae #zomatouae #dubaifoodieblogger #uaefoodbloggers #getinmybelly #cheeseislife #dubaiinfluencer #uae #vegetarianfoodblogger #masalapav #coldturkeydxb #noicefood #eatoutdxb #dxbreakfasts #foodielover #okaybyeee

Vegetable Manchurain – 22dhs – They looked great when served, but dint taste any good. The manchurian dint have any vegetable inside, probably just a tiny bit of carrot was seen with a little green onion. Also the gravy was a little too salty. So for manchurain it was a no – no!

IMG_5000

Our Mains – We went for 2 sabzi’s , roti’s and 1 biryani

Food – Eat it quickly otherwise you’ll have to share it! πŸ™„πŸ˜‹ I’m the worst at sharing my food πŸ™ˆ . . . . . I had a great valentines day today with my 1st love, my mommy β™₯️ we had a great lunch at @sukhsagarinternational , do check out my insta story and also keep an eye for my blog! 😁 Thank you so much for the invite @hyperlinks_media 😍 we absolutely enjoyed our day β™₯️ @zomatouae . . . . . #sukhsagarinternational #dubai #uae #hyperlinksmedia #dubaifoodieblogger #dubaifoodiebybirth #uaefoodbloggers #getinmybelly #indiancusine #sharefood #myuae #mydubai #indiankhana #noicefood #zomato #zomatouae #flaylayforever #flatlay #f52grams #vegetarianfood #foodblogger #dubainfluencer #food52grams #dubaifoodblogger #okaybyeee

A post shared by Hemangi (@hemangiramani) on

Punjabi Dum Aloo 27dhs – I forever wanted to try Dum Aloo, it was a red/orangish gravy which tasted a little tangy and had enough amount of spice I could take. The only sad part was the potato was a little under cooked, so it was getting difficult to cut into the aloo. The filling of dum aloo was grated paneer and spices. I liked the gravy but not the dum aloo. If the aloo was cooked properly would taste even better.

IMG_5009

Sukh Sagar Special Vegetable – 35dhs – The dish consisted 2 sabzi’s, Aloo Bukhara Kofta – Really well done kofta’s you can not make out its made out of plum and this one of their best selling dishes! A Must Try! Malai Paneer (I think so) – Dint know what was the second sabzi as I dint ask the name, the sabzi was very very sweet, dint like the over powering sweetness at all, the only good part about the dish was their freshly made paneer. Liked one sabzi and disliked the other.

IMG_5008

Rotis Lachha Partha – 7dhs and Kulcha – 6dhs – Both lachha partha and kulcha were really well made, not too chewy at all. A Must Try!

IMG_5010.JPG

Vegetable Handi Biryani25dhs – Biryani tasted more like masala pulao, too much masala and was bland on salt. I was expecting the biryani to be more like dum, but then yes dum biryani is totally different from handi biryani. The biryani was accompanied with raita and papad.

IMG_5014

Desserts – You can never leave a restaurant without sweets, if someone tells they don’t have space for any dessert, leave them asap. HAHA, JK πŸ˜›

Angoor Rabri 10dhs – One of the best angoor rabri had till date!! The rabri wasn’t too sweet and it was so thick and creamy, absolutely loved the dish. A Must Try!

Ras Malai 12dhs – 2 piece –Β The ras malai was also really good, very soft and not too chewy. The milk was so good!

IMG_5028

Service and Staff – The service and staff both are extremely good!! Mr. William the Manager of the branch was really sweet to look after each customer, he asked feedbacks from all his customers.

On the Pocket – I would say pretty pocket friendly, I see myself coming for a lot of their delicious food.

Overall – The seating and the ambience of Sukh Sagar is nice. They need to improve few things about their dishes like presentation of the dishes, they also need to look into using proper amount of salt, because 1-2 dishes had extra or no salt. otherwise I liked everything. There is tons of parking right in front of the restaurant, they have wifi and also it’s kids friendly.

Baydar – Trip to Lebanon :D

Last week I was invited for a tasting at Baydar. They’re located in Barsha Mall, facing right in front of Barsha Pond Park.
IMG_9938

They have the best view! If you don’t know what to do for your New Years Eve, go to Baydar, you’ll get to see the fireworks perfectly!! It’s literally the best location πŸ˜€ Oh btw, you can see Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa from Baydar, that’s like icing on the cake πŸ˜€ I could go on and on about the view, haha πŸ˜›

IMG_4155

Let’s talk about the food, shall we πŸ˜€

I went a little over board with my ordering, but I promise you everything was good or may be wasn’t? Keep reading about my experience at Baydar!

Cold Mezze –

Hummus – I was craving for some hummus from a very longtime and there you go, ordered for some. Very fresh, creamy and goes very well with their hot breads (Kaboos)

IMG_4137Hummus (18dhs)

Moutabal – Is made of eggplants, I personally don’t like eggplants but I really like Moutabal a lot (I’m a lil weird, haha :P) and this Moutabal was amazing, it had the smokey taste of eggplant but wasn’t overpowering the dish equally, have it with their hot bread, will even taste better. πŸ˜€ A Must Try!

IMG_4139Moutabal (18dhs)

Fatouch – Lately I’ve been loving fatouch. Fatouch is a salad which consists of seasoned and roasted kaboos (Arabic flat bread) veggies like capsicum, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber. The salad is tossed with some sumac powder and balsamic, finally mixed with pomegranate which adds a whole lot of sweet and sour taste to the dish! A Must Try!

IMG_4132Fatouch (20dhs)

Hot Mezze –

Kibbeh stuffed with Olives – Umm, never tried a kibbeh before because you don’t get a veg version anywhere and this was my very first time trying a kibbeh, aah liked it, but dint like it also. 50-50 thoughts on that.

IMG_4134.JPGKibbeh stuffed with Olives (18dhs)

Sandwich

Falafel Sandwich – You guys know I’m made about falafel sandwiches and this was a very good one! the falafel inside was very crispy from the out and soft from the inside, very good! The sandwich had tahini sauce, lots of pickles and few greens! Absolutely loved it!

IMG_4152Falafel Sandwich (8dhs)

Cold Beverages –

Fruit Cocktail – At first I thought this must be a fruit cocktail juice, and when it came it was equal to two freaking dishes, haha! damn heavy but equally healthy too, the cocktail had a lot of fruits like strawberry, apple, kiwi, etc topped with some ice cream I reckon! Oh so good πŸ˜€

Fruit Cocktail (25dhs)

Manakish –

Zataar and Cheese – All their kaboos and manakish dough is made at their kitchens fresh! The manakish was good, I don’t like a lot of zataar on my manakish and this was the rightly made for me as it the zataar was surely not too heavy on the cheese!

IMG_4146Zataar and Cheese Manakish (14dhs)

Cheese Harra – At the first I had double thoughts about the dish but as I kept eating it, the dish grew on me and actually loved it! So, cheese harra is made of feta cheese, it’s a little on the spice side as they add red chili to the feta cheese with some finely chopped tomatoes, onions and capsicum! You should surely try it. A Must Try!

IMG_4148Cheese Harra (12dhs)

Dessert –

Cheese Konafa – I din’t have it at the restaurant as I was extremely full by the time it was time for the desserts. So, I took a parcel went home and had it in the evening, hehe :D. They give you a small container with sugar syrup to add the konafa, gooey and good cheese. Always eat your Konfa hot/warm because if it’s cold then wouldn’t taste good as the cheese will become hard and won’t any good.

Ambience –

Lovely seating with pretty good views and great ambience. Very clean and organised.

IMG_4161

Service – Very fast service, the food was out in minutes! Also the staff was very friendly and totally helpful with everything. I love a restaurant with good service and staff, because if the place has good service and staff then everything is great!

Overall – A great experience at Baydar with good food, surely recommending it to everyone to try them out, you wouldn’t have any difficulties with the parking as it’s inside the mall and there is free mall wifi too, so you can enjoy everything at ones!

IMG_4159

One the Pocket – Kind of pocket friendly as they ain’t too expensive nor too low on the price.

Location – They’re located on the first floor of Barsha Mall.

Let’s go back to Punjab with Chawlas^2 :D

Let me take you on a food journey to Punjab with some good Punjabi Khana πŸ˜€

Thank you to my blogger friends The Scrumptious Scavengers for taking me along for a tasting at Chawlas2, I’m so glad to discover an authentic punjabi restaurant. We were welcomed by Mr.Arvinder, the franchisee/owner of Chawlas2. He took us back to the history where all the magic started and is still going on very strongly!!

IMG_9482

Let me quickly jump to the food, because I can’t wait to tell you guys what all I ate πŸ˜€

Beverages

I started off with two beverages, 1 was the Sweet Lime Soda, which took me back to India!! Ah so good and refreshing, the soda had some soda masala too, bonus points for that. πŸ˜€

IMG_3947Lime Soda (12dhs) and Salted Lassi (15dhs)

My 2nd beverage was the Salted Lassi, I’m a crazy lassi person, because it’s just a little thinner version of yogurt and I love it so much, and literally this lassi was hands down my favourite, so fresh and so thick! Loved it! A must try to both the beverages!

IMG_3951Salted Lassi (15dhs)

Starters

Mr. Arvinder was very kind to serve me the whole Vegetarian Platter which consisted with different assortments like

Paneer Tikka – Very flavorful, paneer was fresh not rubbery at all, soft and tasty.

Veg Seekh Kebab – Were a little dry but tasted good.

Tandoori Gobi – Totally Masalaidar and properly tandoor’d

Tandoori Mushroom – Very standard and tasted good.

Stuffed Tandoori Aloo – I would write a whole para for the Aloo’s, they were my favorite on the platter, they were so good! The aloo were scooped and filled with crushed sesame seeds, spices, and bits of paneer and tandoor’d so well, oh so good! A Must Try!

IMG_3957Veg Tandoori Platter (39dhs)

I dint go for a lot in mains, because by the time I got done with the platter I was full and also I was the only vegetarian πŸ˜› So dint order a big portions, went for small portions. Pls remember when you order the quantity will differ for the mains.
IMG_9501
Up – Non Veg Platter(69dhs) , Middle – Tandoori Mutton Burra (41dhs), Down – Veg Platter (39dhs) *The quantity may vary

Insider to the Restaurant –

Chawlas2 is very well known for their signature dish “The Cream Chicken” where everything started, back in the days in Ludhiana they only use to do take away of their signature dish with a loaf of bread. Everybody instantly fell in love with their cream chicken and today they’ve almost 100 branches across the globe, like North India, UK, USA, Australia and 2 years old in Dubai, UAE πŸ˜€

The restaurants name, Chawlas^2 which is actually Chawla’s Sqaure, where the veg and the non veg authentic punjabi food meets, how cool and unique is thatt?? πŸ˜€

I would like to add a fun fact about their spices used in Cream Chicken or Cream Paneer for the vegetarians, literally nobody knows what are the secret spices, they’re freshly made in India and sent them over here!! Wow, that’s a big secret right here πŸ˜€

IMG_3943
Interiors

Okay, let’s get back to my mains, shall we ? πŸ˜€

Mains –

I tried the signature dish – cream chicken gravy (don’t worry I dint eat chicken, they removed some gravy for me before adding the chicken, haha πŸ˜› ) It is an off white colour gravy, which is thick and spicy. The gravy is slightly spicy but the spice doesn’t give you burning sensation in your throat, that’s win for me! A Must Try

IMG_3972
Signature Dish – Cream Chicken(37dhs) Gravy with Laccha Paratha(6dhs)

I also had Paneer Tikka Masala with laccha paratha and butter naan. The paneer was soft from the inside that it melts straight away and a little hard from the outside because it tandoor’d at the right heat. Paneer Tikka Masala is slightly pink gravy and not like our normal Paneer Tikka Masala. The spices in this gravy was also not over powering the paneer. I had two breads, from which I really like the butter naan because it was softer than the laccha paratha. Laccha partha got a little difficult to break as it got colder.

IMG_3973
Paneer Tikka Masala(33dhs)

My favorite sabzi would be the Cream Paneer if you’re a veg and Cream Chicken if you’re a non veg, it an absolute Must Try!

We ended our tasty punjabi food journey with some lip smacking dessert!

Dessert – Gulab Jamun (Happy dance)

I loveeee Gulab Jamun so much!!! They served us some warm Gulab Jamun’s which were so soft and stuffed with kesar and pista! I had one 1 jamun because we were sharing πŸ˜› If we weren’t I would have eaten two of them πŸ˜› A Must Try!
IMG_3984
Gulab Jamun (15dhs)

Ambience

Lovely ambience, good seating and beautiful interior, very energetic and friendly staff! They’ve outdoor seating also, which you can take advantage in this lovely weather πŸ˜€ Wifi is also available with some good punjabi ganai πŸ˜€

IMG_3945
Cool Interior

Overall –

Very good authentic punjabi food, good staff and not too difficult to find them! They also do home delivery. And surely looking to come back with other friends, totally recommend it!

Yin & Yang Restaurant – JLT

Few days a go my Lunch was on Hyperlink Media, they got me delivered some good Chinese lunch from a Restaurant located at the JLT – Yin & Yang.

I was sent a vegetarian combo with a dessert which was a tiramisu.

IMG_3327.JPG

Let’s get talking about the food! πŸ˜€

So the vegetarian combo had 3 food items which were the Fried Rice, Manchurian with Gravy , 2 pieces of Veg Spring Rolls and also a soft drink of your choice.

Spring Rolls – The Spring rolls were really good, it had veggies like cabbage, onion, carrots and some seasoning to the rolls, nice and flavorful. Must Try!

Fried Rice – I love fried rice and manchurian with gravy and I was really excited to try both the dishes from Yin & Yang. The fried rice was alright, wouldn’t say the best, the fried rice had few carrots and peas, it lacked a little bit on the flavor also felt a little dry. Yes, I know that’s why you get condiments to add to the dish. But for me it was slightly on the miss side and not win.

Manchurian with gravy – The Manchurian was an absolute win for me! So soft and so flavorful with that oh so good gravy! Okay, if you’ve both the rice and gravy together it tastes spectacular, a 3.5/5 from me but separately it was a miss here and there with the rice..

IMG_3307

I was also sent a bowl of Tiramisu which was really creamy (good point) and a tad bit sweet for my liking (bad point), the dessert wasn’t made a proper authentic style, it was a miss from my side on the tiramisu too.

IMG_3321

The vegetable combo is actually a very good deal as it for only 29dhs, and you’ll be full in no time with all that food, the amount of food they pack in that container is soo much!!:D Tiramisu was for 22dhs

All in all it was a good experience to try some authentic Chinese food by just sitting home :D, would surely give them a try next time to try their Italian dishes too as they also serve Italian dishes too, *ppizzaaa* πŸ˜€

Do check them out on Zomato for their menu, you can also contact them on 04 5508306

Thank you Hyperlink Media for sorting out my lunch πŸ˜€ finished it in no time πŸ˜€

Mission Burger: Mooyah

Mooyah is an All-American concept bringing the flavours of Texan burgers to Dubai.Β  I had both good and bad experience. Let’s get reviewing. πŸ˜€

As you all know I’ve been trying out some great burgers and Mooyah has been one of them, Mooyah is like the burger version of subway but better and a little unhealthy too, haha! πŸ˜›

You can choose what you want to have from their Signature Burgers or you can even Build Your Own Burger! I opted for building my own burger and I was all excited to build my burger because you can add whatever you want and as much ever you want. I chose my bread, patty and following, I went for the white bread, black bean veggie patty, added few veggies like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, some pickles, onions and grilled onions too (yes I like my onions a lot and yes I do have chewing gum right after I’m done. :P) Then comes the sauces, I went for their signature sauce the Mooyah Sauce, Mayo and some Ranch. For cheese I chose the American cheese, everything together tasted so good. Don’t forget to add some grilled onions to your burger it adds the crunchiness to your burger and some more flavour too πŸ˜€

I’ve have had a black bean patty few a little times and got really disappointed about them ever since. So I had a 50-50 mind, but at Mooyah you can taste all the spices, garlic, onion, chilli everything in that one bite you take of your burger and I’ve actually regained my faith in a black bean patty, haha. The patty wasn’t dry and wasn’t soggy either and was properly cooked and freshly made!! Oh you can also get a little adventurous and even add double patties to your burger which is for 33dhs, I went for the single patty :P. My burger was for 24dhs.

IMG_7469
Black Bean Burger, Loaded Fries with Cola.

It’s time to talk about my favourite part and that is the FRIES, haha you know how much I love my fries, don’t you?? I’m sure you do! πŸ˜›

I went for the loaded fries because why not? πŸ˜› No, actually one of their staff suggested me to try the loaded fries and I was like yes sure why not. πŸ˜› I excluded the bacon bits, you can add them if you’re a non vegetarian! Loaded fries has loads of aged creamy cheddar cheese sauce drizzled with some ranch dressing and topped with jalapenos. Yes, its a bit pricy but if you love fries then you can surely try them! Loaded fries is for 22dhs.

I even tasted the Onion Rings, oh my lord! So crunchy and so good. I even had the cheese fries from my friends and they were as good as the loaded fries. Onion Rings is for 12dhs and Cheese Fries is for 16dhs. Their soft drinks are refillable and for 10dhs.

IMG_8957

The second time I had been to Mooyah I had a kind of not good experience, my burger was all breaking through, patty tasted as good as the last time, but the bread was a little stale if I’m not wrong because it was really crumbly and breaking with every bite I took. Fresh breads don’t crumb as much as stale bread do. I don’t like my burger breaking with every bite I take, then things start getting to messy and all. But nevertheless there is always a bad experience at a good place sometimes, isn’t it? That’s what I think.

What I really liked about their burger is that they’re really filling and yes like every other joint everything together can get a little pricy but if you and your friends are going you can always share, Am I right or Am I right? Haha πŸ˜‰

I hope you’re enjoying this series of my reviews on some great burger joints! Don’t forget follow my food journey! Stay healthy and foodie. Have a great day ahead. πŸ˜€

Operation: Falafel

Operation: Falafel is a modern take on authentic Arabic street food with a simple setup and with an open kitchen. I’ve heard so much good about them from probably everyone who has been to this place and I wanted to try Operation: Falafel ever since then. I had been to their Box Park branch and they have almost 5 branches and 2 are coming soon near you!

image1 (2)

The Box Park Branch.

Story Time: We friends usually plan out where to go for lunch/dinner before a day or two and when it’s all decided, I always go and check the menu 1st and find for the best thing I want to have (Like 100 times I check their menu, haha) and then make my mind about that, the same happened over here also. Is it just me or you also do this?? Don’t be shy to accept it, haha. Okay let’s talk about the food πŸ˜›

image5 (2)

(Top: Shawarma Sandwich, Sharwarma Saj Platter. Bottom: Kaboos, Stuffed Falafel Platter.)

I was so looking forward to have their Falafel Platter, they’ve two of them in falafel.Β 1) Falafel Platter, just the regular 6 falafels with kaboos (arabic bread/pita bread), hummus (boiled chickpea blended with tahini, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt made into a paste), tahini (sesame seed paste blend with lemon juice and salt made into a sauce), fresh veggies and pickles, For 19dhs.

2) Stuffed Falafel, I opted for this one because why not?? I’ve never had a stuffed falafel and I was really keen to try it out, the difference between the regular and stuffed falafel was only the falafel, but that was a big difference because you get 4 huge falafels (which you can barely finish) and they’re stuffed with a mix of foul beans, tomato and onion with Arabic spices. Who would even think of making Stuffed Falafels?? Opernation: Falafel surely did. A very filling platter, you would surely enjoy it if you like Falafel like I do! Stuffed Falafel is for 20dhs.

The only thing I dint like was the kaboos which comes along the platter, it’s really stale and cold. I would prefer the kaboos they make and serve fresh and hot! That’s the best thing, as you finish them or even if they get a bit cold they change it for you and serve you their hot kaboos out of their wood fired oven!! I would eat them all day, hahaha

We ordered a lot of things and one of them was their Zataar and Cheese Manakesh, they’re a little on the pricy side. But byΒ this point we all were so full but a slice or two of Manakeesh won’t harm anyone, Am I right or Am I right? Haha! Proper amount of Zaatar was put, usually at some places they over put the Zataar that you can barely taste any cheese, but that wasn’t over here! Zataar and Cheese Manakesh is for 15dhs.

Even after ordering so much food we ordered some french fries, because hey fries before guys, haha πŸ˜› ( that was a bad joke, but that’s the truth :P) Crunchy and soft french fries! I even took a bite from my friends Fiery Falafel Sandwich tasted good, it had their crunchy falafels, tahini, shatta (tamato and chilli paste) and pickles in a saj bread. Fiery Falafel Sandwich is for 14dhs.

One thing that actually annoys me a lot is the price of the soft drinks, the can says 1.50dhs then why do they charge us so much???? Makes me mad all the time!! We ordered 2 of them and shared, 1 can costed us for 8dhs. I know a lot of places cost more than this but still it’s really pricy, isn’t it? I would be fine if it was refillable, nevertheless I had a great time!

The staff Β was attentive and friendly too, good environment and ambience. They’ve a lot of seating inside and outside, parking can be a issue if you come at a peak time, so yeah! My absolute favourite was the Stuffed Falafel Platter, get your hands on them soon!! I’m going back soon.

Don’t forget to follow me for some yummy food journey. Hope you have a great weekend, Happy Thursday and Ramadan Kareem to all of you ones again! Stay blessed and healthy!!
