Good food and good restaurant
I’ve been craving for some good authentic Mexican food and I find Maria Bonita, alas!! Do check out Maria Bonita if you too are a Mexican food lover like I’m. They’re located in Jumeriah and you can easily find them on Smart Drive or on Google Maps, so reaching here wouldn’t be a problem. They do have free parking but sadly the day we had gone it was all full, that can be a little issue.
Maria Bonita has indoor and outdoor seating both, I had gone on a Friday with a friend of mine and they were already full by the time we reached there and they only had 1 table outside which wasn’t taken, even though they’ve a/c coolers outside it was kind of hot to sit outside, so we opted to sit inside but most of the table were taken or some of them were reserved but their staff was kind enough to get us a table. As we get seated their staff straight comes with the Menu’s and their warm basket of Tortilla chips with grilled salsa and fresh salsa. Okay, I’m not even kidding they’ve a hand bag holder, wait what?? HAHA yess, loved that!!
These chips were huge, so crunchy fresh and so good, as your chips get over they immediately bring in other hot ones! I could eat them all day, not even joking 😛 I liked the grilled salsa more than fresh salsa because I could barely taste anything in the fresh salsa other than the coriander leaves; and the grilled salsa was a bit more flavourful as it had more spices.
Left: Grilled Salsa, Right: Fresh Salsa.
Everything is just so colourful and pretty!! The menu is a bit different on Zomato from their Dine in Menu as they have a lot of more options to order from. If you’re a vegetarian like I’m and you’re afraid of not finding veg options then that wouldn’t happen here because they pretty much have a veg option in everything possible. 😀
Let’s get to our orders, I ordered their Jumbo Quesadilla (Veg obvio :P) and a glass of Coke and my friend ordered the Nacho Macho with beef, Chimichanga and Pina Colada.
I love myself some Quesadilla 😀 Jumbo Quesadilla had Bell Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms and seasonings with a lot of cheese in the filling. Thier dishes surely isn’t for 1 person, I hardly had 3-4 slices and I was done, I was so full. They taste so good, flavourful and filling for sure. They’re served with guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. The best is their Guacamole, you can order it separately with your chips if you want and they will make it fresh right in front of you! Yes, its on a pricy side but you can share it with a friend of yours and there always a takeaway option. Jumbo Quesadilla is for 52 dhs
Jumbo Quesadilla (Veg)
Nacho Macho (Beef) the servings are really huge and 1 person can barely eat anything (yes I’m repeating that again :P), as it had beef so I dint eat it, but just look at it, looks so tasty. Nacho Macho was topped with beans, melted cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapenos and meat. If I had to order this (veg option) I would maybe just eat this because I know I wouldn’t be able to eat anything else. 😛 Nacho Macho is for 46dhs.
Nacho Macho (beef)
My friend had ordered Pina Colada, was alright not the best; It tasted more like I’m having coconut milk rather than Pina Colada. Pina Colada has Pineapple juice and Coconut Milk mixed together but I couldn’t taste any Pineapple. Not sure how much was the drink for. And also if they would serve it in a fancy glass would look better 😀
It surely was a feast and the food is so good and filling and the portions are huge! The ambience is really chilled but can be a little noisy when there are a lot of people, but that’s a sign of a good restaurant right??? 😉 The staff is really attentive and friendly. It can be a little out of budget if you’re a budgeted person but you can come in a group and order few things on the menu and share the food and the bill too 😀 The soft drinks was for 14dhs yup pricy and that annoys me, but they’re refillable and also huge glasses so you would barely go for a refil, haha 😛 You see what they did there!!
Left to Rigth: Chimichanga, Nacho Macho, Tortilla Chips, Salsa’s and Jumbo Quesadilla.
The interior was lovely as I have mentioned above, and I’ll surely come back soon and would love to try their other dishes too!! Stay Healthy, Stay Foodie and Stay Tuned!
I’ve a cheeky giveaway coming up soon on your way so look out over here or on my Instagram that’s hemangiramani Keep an eye on my social media!

We’ve been going to Zahart Al Madina Restaurant since a decade or more and this place has never failed wowing me with their Falafel Sandwich!! Anybody who loves Falafel sandwich/wrap should surely visit them because you’re for sure missing something yummy, they make the best falafel sandwiches/wraps. They serve Indian, Pakistani and Arabic Cuisine. I personally have tasted nothing other than their very well known Falafel Sandwich, Falafel, Samosa and Onion Bhajiya. The location is a bit tricky so please check the directions to this place on Zomato, I’m sure that will help you and you’ll love the food just like I do!
Even after they’re located in Ajman we don’t mind driving through the Sharjah traffic because literally their Falafel Sandwiches are so good, like I told in the beginning I’ve been coming here for more than a decade, the thing that is changed is the restaurants interior and location that’s it. It’s so crazy that the sandwich tastes just so good and exactly same every time I go. They make them just in front of you so you can even see how they make your food through the glass window.
The Falafel Sandwich is made in a kaboos/pita bread and has tahini sauce, shatta paste (red tomato and chilli paste), cucumber, pickled carrots, tomatoes, cabbage and their 2 huge Falafels. One sandwich is for only 2.50dhs, yess that’s it!! They always make them fresh for every person who orders and we always have a big order because we usually take few for the next day also, haha 😛 I can’t help it. Just store them in the fridge and reheat again and voila you’re ready to eat them! 😀 I’ve eaten Falafels at a lot of places, nobody has beaten their taste, them falafel have a proper authentic taste and are just so good!! 1 falafel is for 0.50fils.
The taste hasn’t changed until today, the same flavours and the same taste! They do have seating inside so you can sit inside or take a takeaway and have it in the car or by the beach as the beach is near by the place, we usually prefer takeaways. The staff is very friendly and shows great hospitality. They’re really pocket friendly when it comes to food.
Parking isn’t an issue at all because there is a huge parking lot behind so you can park there. Don’t forget to try this place if you’re around this area and do let me know if you’ve been going here just like me and even if you’ve your own favourite falafel sandwich place in Dubai or U.A.E. Please do check their Zomato page for the location.
Stay Healthy and Foodie, that’s it for today, don’t forget to follow my food journey! Happy Tuesday! 😀

I was going through my fellow bloggers blog and read about Rajasthan Al Malaki and since then I kept bugging my parents to take me here and they did. HAHA 😛
We took the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road to Sharjah and we were pretty lucky to get no traffic towards Sharjah, I’ll input the location in the end of the blog, so check it out!
They’re usually crowded on weekends so if you can then don’t forget to book a table, even after booking a table we had to wait for almost 45mins. I would suggest you to take a reservation on a weekend.
The restaurant isn’t too big and they’ve tried to fit pretty lot of tables so you feel really restricted with your hands, the place has a proper Rajasthan touch to everything, whether that’s the furniture, paintings, food, etc. Rajasthan Al Malaki serves Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines in a Thali. Thali is a full course meal where different types of food varieties are served in a round plate.
They serve 2 types of Thali’s 1) Week Day, Regular Thali which is for 25dhs and 2) Weekend, Royal Thali which is for 30dhs.Kids under 8 half price(for thali) They even have Ala Carte, chaats and sweet counter too. Let’s get reviewing about the food. 😀
I’m surely writing this really late, but hey I’m still writing yeah? Haha sorry 😛
We were served 4 farsan, 2 sweets, 4 vegetables, 3dals, 3 types of rotis, 2 types of rice, 2 types of salad.
They started with the Farsan (snacks/starer) Dal Batti Churma, Dahi Vada, Shami Kabab, Khaman Dhokla. It was the best Dal batti churma I’ve ever had, the churma was so soft yet not dry and the dal had all proper spices to it, loved it! Dahi vada, literally my second favourite farsan, I’m very picky with my Dahi vada and they tasted so good, as you put in your mouth they dissolve right than second, not too sweet and really tasty and fresh. I wasn’t too found of the shami kabab because they tasted kind of under cook. They dint have Gobi Patra in the menu as they were finished so we were served with Khaman Dhokla, umm they were fine, kind of dry otherwise was fine. They’re served with Spicy and Sweet Chutney.
Next comes the Vegetables/Sabzi’s Paneer Jodhpuri, Methi Mutter Malai, Gatta Curry and Aloo Lasaniya, personally all are my favourite sabzi’s but I was really looking forward for Gatta Curry I love Gatta Curry soo much and they nailed it!! The gatta wasn’t too dry and hard so that was a good thing and the gravy was tasty too, not too sweet and not spicy either. Paneer Jodhpuri, Methi Mutter Malai and Aloo Lasaniya were great too, liked all of them, tasted great!
Next comes the Dals, Rajasthani Dal, Mithi Dal (sweet dal) and Jodhpuri Kadhi, when it comes to dal I barely have any, don’t ask me why 😛 I’m so much busy eating other things that I always forget the dal 😛 All of them tasted good, I personally liked the Rajasthani Dal and Jodhpuri Kadhi because it tasted more like what my Mom makes, so yeah that was a win for me. I don’t like sweet dal a lot so Mithi Dal dint work for me.
Next comes the Rotis, they’ve Phulka Roti, Masala Puri and Makai ke Roti, what I like about Thali places are that they do have a lot of varieties but they don’t serve more than anything the person need so it’s not a waste. They make small puri’s, and roti’s and that too fresh and hot. Who doesn’t like garma garam roti? Ah love ittt!!! Soft rotis and puris are a win for me!
The Rice, they’ve two choices in rice, Kashmiri Pulav and Khichadi, Ummm na na dint like either of them! Khichadi was too runny and Kashmiri Pulav were too spicy and had a lot of Khada Masala which is one thing I hate the most, so dint like either of them. Or may be I was too full by this time that I dint like either of them, you never know 😛
And now comes my most favourite part and that is the Sweets 😀 😀 😀 They had 3 sweets, Churma, Moong dal halwa and Fruit custard. Loved all of them, literally I went mad for the Moong Dal Halwa, so soft not too sweet and lots of ghee 😛 😀 I’m not a fruit custard person but this one was pretty good won my heart with the 1st spoon. Churma was good too, the best thing was that neither of them were too sweet, loved that!
Oh how can I forget the Chaas (butter milk) loved it, but don’t drink it too much otherwise you’ll get full too fast before you eat anything. 😉 😀
Above: Royal Thali
The waiters are so well taught their signs and they’re great servers!! The ambience is good but can get very noisy because the place isn’t too big I would say they’re mid sized. Parking isn’t an issue you can get it in front of the restaurant.
Mooyah is an All-American concept bringing the flavours of Texan burgers to Dubai. They’ve two branches in Dubai, 1 is at Ibn Battuta Mall and 2nd is at Al Wasl Square, Al Safa. I’ve been twice to their Al Wasl Square branch and I had both good and bad experience. Let’s get reviewing. 😀
Picture Courtesy: Zomato (This is the Al Wasl Square, Al Safa.)
As you all know I’ve been trying out some great burgers and Mooyah has been one of them, Mooyah is like the burger version of subway but better and a little unhealthy too, haha! 😛
You can choose what you want to have from their Signature Burgers or you can even Build Your Own Burger! I opted for building my own burger and I was all excited to build my burger because you can add whatever you want and as much ever you want. I chose my bread, patty and following, I went for the white bread, black bean veggie patty, added few veggies like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, some pickles, onions and grilled onions too (yes I like my onions a lot and yes I do have chewing gum right after I’m done. :P) Then comes the sauces, I went for their signature sauce the Mooyah Sauce, Mayo and some Ranch. For cheese I chose the American cheese, everything together tasted so good. Don’t forget to add some grilled onions to your burger it adds the crunchiness to your burger and some more flavour too 😀
I’ve have had a black bean patty few a little times and got really disappointed about them ever since. So I had a 50-50 mind, but at Mooyah you can taste all the spices, garlic, onion, chilli everything in that one bite you take of your burger and I’ve actually regained my faith in a black bean patty, haha. The patty wasn’t dry and wasn’t soggy either and was properly cooked and freshly made!! Oh you can also get a little adventurous and even add double patties to your burger which is for 33dhs, I went for the single patty :P. My burger was for 24dhs.
Black Bean Burger, Loaded Fries with Cola.
It’s time to talk about my favourite part and that is the FRIES, haha you know how much I love my fries, don’t you?? I’m sure you do! 😛
I went for the loaded fries because why not? 😛 No, actually one of their staff suggested me to try the loaded fries and I was like yes sure why not. 😛 I excluded the bacon bits, you can add them if you’re a non vegetarian! Loaded fries has loads of aged creamy cheddar cheese sauce drizzled with some ranch dressing and topped with jalapenos. Yes, its a bit pricy but if you love fries then you can surely try them! Loaded fries is for 22dhs.
I even tasted the Onion Rings, oh my lord! So crunchy and so good. I even had the cheese fries from my friends and they were as good as the loaded fries. Onion Rings is for 12dhs and Cheese Fries is for 16dhs. Their soft drinks are refillable and for 10dhs.

The second time I had been to Mooyah I had a kind of not good experience, my burger was all breaking through, patty tasted as good as the last time, but the bread was a little stale if I’m not wrong because it was really crumbly and breaking with every bite I took. Fresh breads don’t crumb as much as stale bread do. I don’t like my burger breaking with every bite I take, then things start getting to messy and all. But nevertheless there is always a bad experience at a good place sometimes, isn’t it? That’s what I think.
What I really liked about their burger is that they’re really filling and yes like every other joint everything together can get a little pricy but if you and your friends are going you can always share, Am I right or Am I right? Haha 😉
If you’re going to their Ibn Battuta Mall branch then they’re located at the China Court and if you’re going to their Al Wasl Square branch please be careful with your turns, you can mess up a little because of the construction! The parking can be a problem in the front but there are some parking’s at the back too, so you can park there!! The staff was great, friendly and humble! Lovely ambience, they’ve seating’s outside also so you can enjoy that when the weather is a little cooler!
You can check out their location and menu on https://www.zomato.com/dubai/restaurants/mooyah
I hope you’re enjoying this series of my reviews on some great burger joints! Don’t forget follow my food journey! Stay healthy and foodie. Have a great day ahead. 😀
Operation: Falafel is a modern take on authentic Arabic street food with a simple setup and with an open kitchen. I’ve heard so much good about them from probably everyone who has been to this place and I wanted to try Operation: Falafel ever since then. I had been to their Box Park branch and they have almost 5 branches and 2 are coming soon near you!
The Box Park Branch.
Story Time: We friends usually plan out where to go for lunch/dinner before a day or two and when it’s all decided, I always go and check the menu 1st and find for the best thing I want to have (Like 100 times I check their menu, haha) and then make my mind about that, the same happened over here also. Is it just me or you also do this?? Don’t be shy to accept it, haha. Okay let’s talk about the food 😛
(Top: Shawarma Sandwich, Sharwarma Saj Platter. Bottom: Kaboos, Stuffed Falafel Platter.)
I was so looking forward to have their Falafel Platter, they’ve two of them in falafel. 1) Falafel Platter, just the regular 6 falafels with kaboos (arabic bread/pita bread), hummus (boiled chickpea blended with tahini, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt made into a paste), tahini (sesame seed paste blend with lemon juice and salt made into a sauce), fresh veggies and pickles, For 19dhs.
2) Stuffed Falafel, I opted for this one because why not?? I’ve never had a stuffed falafel and I was really keen to try it out, the difference between the regular and stuffed falafel was only the falafel, but that was a big difference because you get 4 huge falafels (which you can barely finish) and they’re stuffed with a mix of foul beans, tomato and onion with Arabic spices. Who would even think of making Stuffed Falafels?? Opernation: Falafel surely did. A very filling platter, you would surely enjoy it if you like Falafel like I do! Stuffed Falafel is for 20dhs.
The only thing I dint like was the kaboos which comes along the platter, it’s really stale and cold. I would prefer the kaboos they make and serve fresh and hot! That’s the best thing, as you finish them or even if they get a bit cold they change it for you and serve you their hot kaboos out of their wood fired oven!! I would eat them all day, hahaha
Stuffed Falafel Platter
We ordered a lot of things and one of them was their Zataar and Cheese Manakesh, they’re a little on the pricy side. But by this point we all were so full but a slice or two of Manakeesh won’t harm anyone, Am I right or Am I right? Haha! Proper amount of Zaatar was put, usually at some places they over put the Zataar that you can barely taste any cheese, but that wasn’t over here! Zataar and Cheese Manakesh is for 15dhs.
Zataar and Cheese Manakesh
Even after ordering so much food we ordered some french fries, because hey fries before guys, haha 😛 ( that was a bad joke, but that’s the truth :P) Crunchy and soft french fries! I even took a bite from my friends Fiery Falafel Sandwich tasted good, it had their crunchy falafels, tahini, shatta (tamato and chilli paste) and pickles in a saj bread. Fiery Falafel Sandwich is for 14dhs.
One thing that actually annoys me a lot is the price of the soft drinks, the can says 1.50dhs then why do they charge us so much???? Makes me mad all the time!! We ordered 2 of them and shared, 1 can costed us for 8dhs. I know a lot of places cost more than this but still it’s really pricy, isn’t it? I would be fine if it was refillable, nevertheless I had a great time!
The staff was attentive and friendly too, good environment and ambience. They’ve a lot of seating inside and outside, parking can be a issue if you come at a peak time, so yeah! My absolute favourite was the Stuffed Falafel Platter, get your hands on them soon!! I’m going back soon.
Don’t forget to follow me for some yummy food journey. Hope you have a great weekend, Happy Thursday and Ramadan Kareem to all of you ones again! Stay blessed and healthy!!
I’ve been on a mission to find the best vegetarian burger in Dubai, and I did find some great tasting burgers and some weren’t that great. I’m still on a mission haven’t stopped it yet! So, if you’ve a suggestion please do let me know in the comments below and I’ll surely go try it out there!! Enjoy the blog and this series.
I’ll be reviewing all the tasty burgers I’ve had in the following days with my new series; Mission Burger. Hope you all like it!! Today I’ll start with Burger Fuel, stay tuned they have pretty finger licking good burgers!! Let’s get reviewing! 😀
Burger Fuel was originally found in New Zealand and they’re well known for their gourmet burgers; they have almost 11 locations in Dubai. You can find all their locations and menu on http://www.zomato.com or on their own site www.burgerfuel.com/uae/menu
Burger Fuel has two vegetarian gourmet burgers, 1) V Dub Vege and 2) V Twin Vege. I had both the burgers and one the 1st bite itself I was in love with them!! They literally taste so good and filling.
(Top: V Dub Vege, Below: V Twin Vege)
Let’s start with V Dub Vege, this burger has a different combination to it, They’ve a side dish munchy which is Motobites (25dhs) and it is made of smashed pumpkin, carrot, chickpea and ginger bites, and that’s what they have in the burger, they put almost 4-5 motobites with some melted cheddar, raw grated beetroot, salad, relish, aioli. 1st when I went through their menu and read pumpkin, I had double thoughts of ordering V Dub Vege but it was a surprise!! You cannot literally taste any pumpkin because of all the spices, chickpea and ginger bites. I don’t either like beetroot, but hey this combination is so so so goood!!! Frankly the burger on it’s own is a bit expensive but it’s totally worth it!! V Dub Vege is for 32dhs
V Twin Vege, is a mushroom, kumara (sweet potato), chickpea and basil pattie, melted cheddar, plum sauce, salad, relish, and aioli. At 1st when you read all these ingredients you think will this actually taste good together??? But ones you take a bite, OMG just so delicious and so yummy. The burgers themselves are so huge and heavy that you can barely finish them! The plum sauce has a little sweet and sour touch to it, that it actually goes well with the whole burger. V Twin Vege is for 32dhs
(Top: V Dub Vege with Onion Rings and Coke, Below: V Twin Vege with Sweet Potato Fries and Coke)
I tried few of their sides, like the sweet potato fries, smash browns, and onion rings. Sweet Potato fries (18dhs) are thin and crispy from outside soft and sweet from the inside, you can count in as a healthy option. HAHA! Smash Browns (15dhs) are actually tater tots, very tasty and a little oily too, but that’s okay. Maybe? haha! Finally comes the Onion Rings, (15dhs) crispy from the out and crispy from the inside too! All the sides are served with their signature aioli.
I even tried the Chocolate Shake, but um dint really like it. It was more like a thick shake and too sweet. If you just go for the shake then also it’s extremely heavy and very filling, better to think before you make your mind to buy the shake. Chocolate Shake is for 20dhs. The soft drinks is for 10dhs.
Burger Fuel, Umm Suqeim Branch.
Burger Fuel is a bit on a expensive side and not pocket friendly for a budgeted person, but hey it’s really worth every penny! They’re not like the other simple potato and pea pattie burger, lot of different combination, taste, huge and very filling too! Give it a try and do let me know if you like them or not!! It would be great to hear back from you. Their staff is very helpful and friendly too! Parking at the Umm Suqeim branch is pretty easy because they’ve a parking lot!
Stay tuned to know more about other joints I tried! Don’t forget to follow me, just click the blue “Follow” button to follow my food journey!
