Baydar – Trip to Lebanon :D

Last week I was invited for a tasting at Baydar. They’re located in Barsha Mall, facing right in front of Barsha Pond Park.

They have the best view! If you don’t know what to do for your New Years Eve, go to Baydar, you’ll get to see the fireworks perfectly!! It’s literally the best location πŸ˜€ Oh btw, you can see Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa from Baydar, that’s like icing on the cake πŸ˜€ I could go on and on about the view, haha πŸ˜›

Let’s talk about the food, shall we πŸ˜€

I went a little over board with my ordering, but I promise you everything was good or may be wasn’t? Keep reading about my experience at Baydar!

Cold Mezze –

Hummus – I was craving for some hummus from a very longtime and there you go, ordered for some. Very fresh, creamy and goes very well with their hot breads (Kaboos)

Moutabal – Is made of eggplants, I personally don’t like eggplants but I really like Moutabal a lot (I’m a lil weird, haha :P) and this Moutabal was amazing, it had the smokey taste of eggplant but wasn’t overpowering the dish equally, have it with their hot bread, will even taste better. πŸ˜€ A Must Try!

Fatouch – Lately I’ve been loving fatouch. Fatouch is a salad which consists of seasoned and roasted kaboos (Arabic flat bread) veggies like capsicum, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber. The salad is tossed with some sumac powder and balsamic, finally mixed with pomegranate which adds a whole lot of sweet and sour taste to the dish! A Must Try!

Hot Mezze –

Kibbeh stuffed with Olives – Umm, never tried a kibbeh before because you don’t get a veg version anywhere and this was my very first time trying a kibbeh, aah liked it, but dint like it also. 50-50 thoughts on that.

Sandwich

Falafel Sandwich – You guys know I’m made about falafel sandwiches and this was a very good one! the falafel inside was very crispy from the out and soft from the inside, very good! The sandwich had tahini sauce, lots of pickles and few greens! Absolutely loved it!

Cold Beverages –

Fruit Cocktail – At first I thought this must be a fruit cocktail juice, and when it came it was equal to two freaking dishes, haha! damn heavy but equally healthy too, the cocktail had a lot of fruits like strawberry, apple, kiwi, etc topped with some ice cream I reckon! Oh so good πŸ˜€

Manakish –

Zataar and Cheese – All their kaboos and manakish dough is made at their kitchens fresh! The manakish was good, I don’t like a lot of zataar on my manakish and this was the rightly made for me as it the zataar was surely not too heavy on the cheese!

Cheese Harra – At the first I had double thoughts about the dish but as I kept eating it, the dish grew on me and actually loved it! So, cheese harra is made of feta cheese, it’s a little on the spice side as they add red chili to the feta cheese with some finely chopped tomatoes, onions and capsicum! You should surely try it. A Must Try!

Dessert –

Cheese Konafa – I din’t have it at the restaurant as I was extremely full by the time it was time for the desserts. So, I took a parcel went home and had it in the evening, hehe :D. They give you a small container with sugar syrup to add the konafa, gooey and good cheese. Always eat your Konfa hot/warm because if it’s cold then wouldn’t taste good as the cheese will become hard and won’t any good.

Ambience –

Lovely seating with pretty good views and great ambience. Very clean and organised.

Service – Very fast service, the food was out in minutes! Also the staff was very friendly and totally helpful with everything. I love a restaurant with good service and staff, because if the place has good service and staff then everything is great!

Overall – A great experience at Baydar with good food, surely recommending it to everyone to try them out, you wouldn’t have any difficulties with the parking as it’s inside the mall and there is free mall wifi too, so you can enjoy everything at ones!

One the Pocket – Kind of pocket friendly as they ain’t too expensive nor too low on the price.

Let’s go back to Punjab with Chawlas^2 :D

Let me take you on a food journey to Punjab with some good Punjabi Khana πŸ˜€

Thank you to my blogger friends The Scrumptious Scavengers for taking me along for a tasting at Chawlas2, I’m so glad to discover an authentic punjabi restaurant. We were welcomed by Mr.Arvinder, the franchisee/owner of Chawlas2. He took us back to the history where all the magic started and is still going on very strongly!!

Let me quickly jump to the food, because I can’t wait to tell you guys what all I ate πŸ˜€

Beverages

I started off with two beverages, 1 was the Sweet Lime Soda, which took me back to India!! Ah so good and refreshing, the soda had some soda masala too, bonus points for that. πŸ˜€

My 2nd beverage was the Salted Lassi, I’m a crazy lassi person, because it’s just a little thinner version of yogurt and I love it so much, and literally this lassi was hands down my favourite, so fresh and so thick! Loved it! A must try to both the beverages!

Starters

Mr. Arvinder was very kind to serve me the whole Vegetarian Platter which consisted with different assortments like

Paneer Tikka – Very flavorful, paneer was fresh not rubbery at all, soft and tasty.

Veg Seekh Kebab – Were a little dry but tasted good.

Tandoori Gobi – Totally Masalaidar and properly tandoor’d

Tandoori Mushroom – Very standard and tasted good.

Stuffed Tandoori Aloo – I would write a whole para for the Aloo’s, they were my favorite on the platter, they were so good! The aloo were scooped and filled with crushed sesame seeds, spices, and bits of paneer and tandoor’d so well, oh so good! A Must Try!

I dint go for a lot in mains, because by the time I got done with the platter I was full and also I was the only vegetarian πŸ˜› So dint order a big portions, went for small portions. Pls remember when you order the quantity will differ for the mains.

Insider to the Restaurant –

Chawlas2 is very well known for their signature dish “The Cream Chicken” where everything started, back in the days in Ludhiana they only use to do take away of their signature dish with a loaf of bread. Everybody instantly fell in love with their cream chicken and today they’ve almost 100 branches across the globe, like North India, UK, USA, Australia and 2 years old in Dubai, UAE πŸ˜€

The restaurants name, Chawlas^2 which is actually Chawla’s Sqaure, where the veg and the non veg authentic punjabi food meets, how cool and unique is thatt?? πŸ˜€

I would like to add a fun fact about their spices used in Cream Chicken or Cream Paneer for the vegetarians, literally nobody knows what are the secret spices, they’re freshly made in India and sent them over here!! Wow, that’s a big secret right here πŸ˜€

Interiors

Okay, let’s get back to my mains, shall we ? πŸ˜€

Mains –

I tried the signature dish – cream chicken gravy (don’t worry I dint eat chicken, they removed some gravy for me before adding the chicken, haha πŸ˜› ) It is an off white colour gravy, which is thick and spicy. The gravy is slightly spicy but the spice doesn’t give you burning sensation in your throat, that’s win for me! A Must Try

Signature Dish – Cream Chicken(37dhs) Gravy with Laccha Paratha(6dhs)

I also had Paneer Tikka Masala with laccha paratha and butter naan. The paneer was soft from the inside that it melts straight away and a little hard from the outside because it tandoor’d at the right heat. Paneer Tikka Masala is slightly pink gravy and not like our normal Paneer Tikka Masala. The spices in this gravy was also not over powering the paneer. I had two breads, from which I really like the butter naan because it was softer than the laccha paratha. Laccha partha got a little difficult to break as it got colder.

My favorite sabzi would be the Cream Paneer if you’re a veg and Cream Chicken if you’re a non veg, it an absolute Must Try!

We ended our tasty punjabi food journey with some lip smacking dessert!

Dessert – Gulab Jamun (Happy dance)

I loveeee Gulab Jamun so much!!! They served us some warm Gulab Jamun’s which were so soft and stuffed with kesar and pista! I had one 1 jamun because we were sharing πŸ˜› If we weren’t I would have eaten two of them πŸ˜› A Must Try!

Ambience

Lovely ambience, good seating and beautiful interior, very energetic and friendly staff! They’ve outdoor seating also, which you can take advantage in this lovely weather πŸ˜€ Wifi is also available with some good punjabi ganai πŸ˜€

Overall –

Very good authentic punjabi food, good staff and not too difficult to find them! They also do home delivery. And surely looking to come back with other friends, totally recommend it!

Gioia Italian Restaurant – Fairmont Ajman

I was lucky to be a part of Hyperlink Media’s first bloggers event which happened last week at the Fairmont Ajman, a big thank you to their lovely co founder Nihara for the invite at the newly relaunched Gioia Italian Restaurant.

I had a great time meeting some awesome sauce bloggers, Let’s getting talking about the awesome sauce food too πŸ˜‰

We started with some appetizers –  for the vegetarians they had a vegetarian platter that had,

1)  Mozzarella Di Buffala Alla Caprese – This dish had tomatoes, basil and the mozzarella cheese and this dish was my favorite, you can guess why eh? πŸ˜›

2) Insalat Averdure Miste Con Formaggi Di Capelli – Okay, let me break it down for you about the dish, it was a mixed green salad which was mixed with some goat cheese, cherry tomatoes and some aged balsamic. I dint like the goat cheese *surprise*, I thought I liked all the cheeses but I was wrong when I tasted the goat cheese πŸ˜› other than that it was good πŸ˜€

3). Crema Di Broccoli Al Gorgonzola E Crostini – Broccoli soup with some gorgonzola soup, really liked the soup because it was creamy and cheesyy πŸ˜€ it was a win πŸ˜€ I have started to like broccoli soup, a lot lately πŸ˜› Must Try πŸ˜€

So we were told we could choose any drinks from the menu we want,

I went for the classic Strawberry Mojito, Oh so refreshing and so good in taste too! An absolute recommendation πŸ˜€ A Must Try!

Before we got our main “Mains” we got to try their wood fire baked PIZZAAAAA!! haha yess!! We were served with 3 pizza’s, which was the Quattro Formaggi ( 4 cheese obvio!) , Zingara (The veg one) and the last was Capricciosa (Pepperoni Pizza) and 3 out of 2 of them were the one I could eat, I was over the moon to have two options! Haha πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Okay, I love cheese a lot, but without a doubt my favourite was the Zingara, so cheesy and right amount of cheese and properly cooked veggies πŸ˜€ Zingara is a Must Try! πŸ˜€

We were served with 2 veg mains and both were pasta’s, all the pasta’s at Gioia Restaurant are homemade and the pasta chosen that day were the Casarecce pasta. I have never tried the Casarecce pasta and they were actually so good. 

The two pasta dishes we had were the Arabiatta pasta and Alfredo Pasta. (I’m sorry for not knowing the right name of the dish)

My favorite was the Arabiatta pasta as they were really flavorful, had the right amount of sauce, spices and. Alot if cheese on the top! 😁

Can we talk about the crazy good desserts we ended our day with?? There were freaking 3 good desserts ❀ πŸ˜€

The 3 desserts were Espresso Frozen Parafait with Coffee glee and chocolate soup, Hazelnut Mousseline Napoline with Mascopone cream and peach campote and last but not the least Manjari Molten Chocolate and Caramelized Popcorn Gelato, Compressed Strawberries.

My favorite out all 3 was the Molten Chocolate cake because of the ooey gooey chocolate and the caramel ozzing out the cake! The gelato served was so good too! πŸ˜€

I had an awesome friday with all the great bloggers, Gioia has great service and very friendly staff, If you’re dinning in at the Gioia Restaurant do ask for Omar as your server! He was great πŸ˜€

We lastly had a tour of the Hotel and got to see their Penthouse at the 14th floor and it was damn huge, a 2 story penthouse!! It was like a dream house anybody could ask for πŸ˜€  I’ve attached a picture of the view from the penthouse for you to get a lil jealous of me, Haha πŸ˜› πŸ˜›
