Sukh Sagar Restaurant is one of the oldest Indian Vegetarian Restaurants in Dubai and it’s going to sound a little weird but I have only visited them once in these many years! Don’t ask why though 😛 Also a big thank you to Hyperlinks Media for the Invitation 😀
I had gone on the 14th Feb – Valentines Day, with my very lovely Mommy 😀 We surely had a great feast 😀
Let’s talk about what all we ordered, it was a lottt of good food 😛 😀
We started off with something to drink.
Carrot Juice – 13dhs – Mom went for the fresh made carrot juice and it was pretty good, also you could get little bit of carrot with every sip, mom really liked it.
Salted Lassi – 12dhs – I went for the authentic salted lassi, for us gujarati lassi is like our beer, we have it with mostly everything and absolutely love that! Perfectly made lassi, not too salty and not too thick either, just the way I love my Lassi.
We ordered 3 Appetizers –
Mix Platter – 35dhs – If you and your family is as crazy as we are about tandoor and all then you’ll surely like this dish, you can share the dish at least between 3 people max! The platter consisted a different variety of tandoor’d veggies like cauliflower and mushrooms, paneer and kebab’s.
Liked – Paneer – The paneer was so soft that it melted right away in the mouth and it was properly tandoor’d with yummy marination masala! Mushrooms – You can never go wrong with mushrooms in a tandoor platter 😀 , Seekh Kabab – Very flavorful with all the spices and cooked properly! Pineapple – Yess, there was a pineapple that too fried in a pancake batter. I loved it!! The sourness of the pineapple and the batter was slightly sweet so the whole combination was different and tasty!
Dint like – Cauliflower – The cauliflower tasted a little under-cooked, the masala tasted perfectly seasoned and not too spicy. Hara Bhara Kebab – The hara bhara kebab dint taste like the authentic kebabs, very bland in taste too.
Sukh Sagar Specail Masala Pav – 19dhs – MY FAVORITE DISH!!! Literally this dish was soo gooddd!! The Masala wasn’t deadly spicy, I could do that much spice. The masala dint taste like the typical Pav Bhaji Masala, it wasn’t totally smashed and creamy like the pav bhaji masala, bigger chunks of the tomato, onions and capsicums. The pav was grilled in butter up to it was crunchy from the top and soft from the inside. The dish was topped with loads of cheese which took the dish to another level of awesomeness! An absolute Must Try!

Vegetable Manchurain – 22dhs – They looked great when served, but dint taste any good. The manchurian dint have any vegetable inside, probably just a tiny bit of carrot was seen with a little green onion. Also the gravy was a little too salty. So for manchurain it was a no – no!
Our Mains – We went for 2 sabzi’s , roti’s and 1 biryani
Food – Eat it quickly otherwise you’ll have to share it! 🙄😋 I’m the worst at sharing my food 🙈 . . . . . Punjabi Dum Aloo – 27dhs – I forever wanted to try Dum Aloo, it was a red/orangish gravy which tasted a little tangy and had enough amount of spice I could take. The only sad part was the potato was a little under cooked, so it was getting difficult to cut into the aloo. The filling of dum aloo was grated paneer and spices. I liked the gravy but not the dum aloo. If the aloo was cooked properly would taste even better.
Sukh Sagar Special Vegetable – 35dhs – The dish consisted 2 sabzi’s, Aloo Bukhara Kofta – Really well done kofta’s you can not make out its made out of plum and this one of their best selling dishes! A Must Try! Malai Paneer (I think so) – Dint know what was the second sabzi as I dint ask the name, the sabzi was very very sweet, dint like the over powering sweetness at all, the only good part about the dish was their freshly made paneer. Liked one sabzi and disliked the other.
Rotis – Lachha Partha – 7dhs and Kulcha – 6dhs – Both lachha partha and kulcha were really well made, not too chewy at all. A Must Try!
Vegetable Handi Biryani – 25dhs – Biryani tasted more like masala pulao, too much masala and was bland on salt. I was expecting the biryani to be more like dum, but then yes dum biryani is totally different from handi biryani. The biryani was accompanied with raita and papad.
Desserts – You can never leave a restaurant without sweets, if someone tells they don’t have space for any dessert, leave them asap. HAHA, JK 😛
Angoor Rabri – 10dhs – One of the best angoor rabri had till date!! The rabri wasn’t too sweet and it was so thick and creamy, absolutely loved the dish. A Must Try!

Ras Malai – 12dhs – 2 piece – The ras malai was also really good, very soft and not too chewy. The milk was so good!
Service and Staff – The service and staff both are extremely good!! Mr. William the Manager of the branch was really sweet to look after each customer, he asked feedbacks from all his customers.
On the Pocket – I would say pretty pocket friendly, I see myself coming for a lot of their delicious food.
Overall – The seating and the ambience of Sukh Sagar is nice. They need to improve few things about their dishes like presentation of the dishes, they also need to look into using proper amount of salt, because 1-2 dishes had extra or no salt. otherwise I liked everything. There is tons of parking right in front of the restaurant, they have wifi and also it’s kids friendly.
